Imagine being able to see what’s happening inside your body before symptoms even appear. For health-curious Australians, those with a family history of illness, or anyone focused on longevity, that’s exactly what OneMRI is offering – and they’ve just set up shop at Brisbane’s leading innovation hub, The Precinct.

With $2.5 million in seed funding already secured from leading investors including OIF, TEN13, Antler, Salus, AfterWork, Archangel, Black Sheep Capital, Prtnr, Tribe Global, Larsen Ventures and a group of medical professionals, OneMRI is built on a strong foundation.

Behind the company are familiar names from Australia’s startup scene: angel investor and engineer Gopi Sara, practising GP Vu Tran, and Andrew Barnes – co-founders of unicorn Go1. Having sharpened their skills through Y Combinator in Silicon Valley and local accelerator Startmate, the team is now applying that experience to create what they call Australia’s first national provider of whole-body MRI scans.

Most people think MRI scans are reserved for serious conditions like brain tumours, spinal cord injuries, or breast cancer. OneMRI is flipping that idea on its head. Their whole-body MRI service is designed for anyone wanting a comprehensive health check, offering a 60-minute scan for AU$2,990 that can reveal issues long before they become life-threatening.

Leading the company is CEO and Co-founder, Gopi Sara, who says momentum is building fast.

“We’ve had way more demand than anticipated and our footprint across Australia is increasing every month. The scan used to take 2 hours, what we want to do is get them down to $500 and 15 minutes and make Whole-Body MRI as accessible as we can.”

The startup is also riding a global wave of interest in whole-body scanning, with celebrities like Chris Hemsworth and Kim Kardashian already championing the trend overseas.

By basing themselves at The Precinct in Fortitude Valley, OneMRI has plugged into a thriving community of founders, investors and researchers. With state-of-the-art facilities, The Precinct provides the perfect space for OneMRI’s mission to make proactive health a mainstream choice in Australia.

With its service now live, OneMRI is aiming to shift how Australians think about healthcare – from waiting until you’re sick, to taking action while you’re well.
