QCIF has officially joined The Precinct, marking a strategic move to strengthen collaboration between research, government and industry in Queensland.
Established in 2000, QCIF is a non-profit organisation providing digital infrastructure capabilities to support research and innovation across Queensland and Australia. Backed by $8.5 million from the Queensland Government in 2008, alongside funding from the Australian Government’s National Collaborative Research Infrastructure Strategy (NCRIS) program and QCIF members, the organisation has built a strong national presence.
Recently, QCIF took part in the Health Innovation Community conference in Melbourne, where they explored opportunities in health data sharing and research translation. These focus areas strongly align with the type of innovation events and discussions already taking place at The Precinct, making their move into the hub a natural fit.
QCIF CEO, Sach Jayasinghe, says the relocation reflects their drive to be closer to innovators and industry leaders.
“We’re delighted to become part of a community where creativity, expertise, and innovation thrive, and we look forward to collaborating with the inspiring organisations and startups based here while contributing to the energy and ideas that makes this space unique.”
Community Manager at The Precinct, Natalie Bentley, says QCIF’s arrival adds further depth to the growing ecosystem.
“It’s wonderful to see the growing ecosystem of researchers, startups, technologists and government here at The Precinct. I’m excited to see the collaborative opportunities that will naturally arise in the space and help support them on their journey.”
QCIF’s move to The Precinct represents more than a change of address – it’s a strategic investment in Queensland’s future, fostering the next generation of research, technology and innovation.
